Photography

Whilst browsing in an antiques i stumbled across many interesting objects which inspired me to create different pieces of art based on photos i had taken of them, in the antiques shop i found lots of china cups, delicately decorated just like the ones which would have been found on the magnificent vessel that was the Titanic. Aswell as the china cups, i came across a pair of binoculars and a compass, these objects made me think of the objects which would have been found in the control rooms of the ship. both binoculars and a compass would have been regularly used on board the ship, aswell as being used during the time the ice burg which sunk the ship eventually was sighted.
the large wooden banister immediately grabbed by attention due to its size and warn down appearance. this lead my imagination to believe it would have been similar to the type of banisters on board the titanic due to its carved design. this design of wooden banistor had a very Edwardian era feel to it. as the sinking of the titanic brought an end to this edwardian era I thought this would be a good piece to focus on through a drawing.
